Oddly captivating and beautifully written. She takes such a simple topic (blue) and writes a series of lists or proses in all the ins and outs and intersections of "blueness". I'm in love, yet again, with another of Maggie Nelson's writings.

Beautifully Creatively written. I felt most captivated by the first and last chapters and the reason why I give this book four stars instead of five is that I found myself feeling disinterested in the middle chapters where I had a hard time following the story and why it pertains to the books topic.
but.... if I could get all my friends to read the last chapter on women and pain, I would. It is incredible and has articulated thoughts on the trope of women being "overly emotional", "too much" so well. It resonated with me so much. So good.
