This book is a great way into enjoying poetry for me. I have had a few false starts in the past. The last time I tried, I learned far more about high level US backing of historical big F fascism than I did about poetry appreciation or poetry (by tracing a path from Ezra Pound to James Angleton and other related topics).

This book is working out well -- I read the poems aloud and get a sense of how to read the different forms aloud, if I like a particular poem based on how it rolls off the tongue, or on what it is saying/depicting, and don't have to get involved in the biographies of fascists.
