@astralstreeting the 4th book was probably my least favourite of this series, I also found myself getting lost in the sauce. I will say the 5th book is truly a bonkers ride.. Maybe not worth trying to dig into right away, but I was very surprised and enjoyed what Gene Wolfe did with The Urth of the New Sun.
